Québécois music a gogo : Les 4 Copines

Lots of work this week so only a short update, more soon! Québécois girl-group Les 4 copines released one single "Qui les filles/Il a le truc" in 1964.Incidentally the same songs were released in France by French girl-group Les Gam's also in 1964.Now who covered who? Of what I've heard of both I must say I prefer Les 4 Copines.

Il a le truc

WOW! Bruno, this is one of the best girls group's song ever made, that I've heard.

    What raw and wild energy!

    Doo wop... ye ye ye!

Not sure which came first, but they're both a cover of The Exciters' 'He Has The Power'. There may be some exceptions, but I think usually the Quebec versions follow the ones from France.

HI Italianbeat, glad you are enjoying, yes this is pretty raw stuff!
Hi Christine, yes this a cover of The Exciters "He's got the power".The first of the vocally aggressive girl groups! ""He's got the power" was written by Ellie Greenwich with Tony Powers before she began writing with Jeff Barry and was a driving teen rocker that opened with "yeah, yeah, yeah" two years before the Beatles made those words an international trademark. It only went to number fifty-seven in the spring of 1963."
It used to be the rule like you pointed out that French "hits" were covered by Québécois artists,so it could well be Les Gam's did it first.
Anyway,I would loooove to hear the version of "Qui les filles" by Les 4 Copines,I have only heard it by Les Gam's and I didn't really like their voices (to deep?)...
