Spring is in the air, let's have some fun with this rarity from Spanish yé-yé girl Kinita!
Check out this great French-language version by Virginie of the theme from the German 60's cult-series Raumpatrouille Orion (also known as Space Patrol in the English-language version).More about this series
This South-African born singer travelled to Europe in the mid 60's after a not so successful career in his home-country.He decided to go to England where he became the lead-singer in a beat-band but eventually he ended up in Germany where he transformed himself into a big star! He only stopped performing in 2003.
More "I Cetra",who are a major discovery me thinks, big big thanks to 60-one.
This is actually a Lambretta scooter commercial, great fun!
Mina, stage name of Anna Maria Mazzini made her debut as a singer in the 50's after the show of an idol of the night clubs. Then she was promoted more seriously in the "rock" style, and became quickly famous. She then passed into the 60's with a very polished style. From the second half of the 60's until the first years of the 70's she became the amazing protagonist of the most famous television variety shows, that enabled her to dominate the Italian hit-parade for 15 years. Her last concerts go back to 1978.Mina retired from the scene in order to move definitively to Lugano,(she assumed the Swiss citizenship in 1989).However she did not disappear from the hearts of the Italians neither from the world of music and she records a new cd every year.Just love this song, big thanks to qqf resident! official site
Here we have 2 songs penned by Serge, covered by Québécoises!
Originally billed as Karin Krogh on this single she made in 1966 with the group "Public Enemies" (a very popular Oslo based R`n`B band).Perhaps Norway's leading jazz-singer,she's had an impressive career and was rediscovered by hipsters some years ago - for instance she's recorded with The Bobby Hughes Experience.Crippled Dick did a compilation of her recordings and this song was also re-issued on a single in 2002 by a UK record-label.Big thanks to qqf resident for this!
I am currently working on a new project which will bring yé-yé from all over the world to Schlocker...All contributions are very welcome, just mail them to me (look in my profile for e-mail)
