Italian music a gogo : Brunetta (e i suoi Balubas)

Lots of work this week,so only a short update for now, more soon! In contrast to Spanish and French yé-yé singers I've found there seems to be very little information about Italian yé-yé girls and girl-groups available.People who own the great "Arriva la bomba" compilation will certainly remember Brunetta (together with The Balubas) of the memorable "Baluba shake",curious enough this song actually became a hit amongst the mods in late 60's England. The second song featured here is the b-side of this great 1966-67? single and this one strangely reminds me of a song by Spanish singer Karina...I've heard rumors Brunetta was considered the anti-Caterina Caselli in that time, not unlike Stella was considered the anti-Sheila in France. There is a rather pricey Italian cd compilation available called "Shake".If somebody has anymore info on her please let me know, greatly appreciated! :)

Very impressed with the "Baluba Shake." I've been shakin' so much that I haven't had time to download the b-side.

most italian girls seem to tend toward the 'dramatic pop' side rather than yeye-ish material, nice track this!

    many thanks from Italy!

One of the better Italian's girls group are the "Snob" and the "Mini-coopers", but I I have not ever heard.. and I'm Italian!

But I know the "Svitate", the "Amiche" and the "Sonia e le sue sorelle"

    bye

HI Ion,hope you can stop for a moment to get the b-side which is also very nice! :)
Hi Robert,I've noticed that as well!
Hi anonymous (italianbeat?),I'm hot on the trail of some mini coopers,so that could get fixed. It is however very difficult to find pictures of these groups. If you have any? Also still looking for music by the other groups you mentioned.
Hi Lush, getting up early normally does the trick! :)

Hi Roar, nice to see you here!
I know that site and the only way to pay it seems is bank transfer or international postal money order...

Hi Bruno! With regards to ordering from On Sale Music: pity! They've never bothered to answer my emails, so I've been stuck with saliving over what could've been and kicking my foot. And that just ain't right!!

    I think for once I'm right about somth'n :)

Baluba Shake on ebay - another pricey auction that I'm curious to see what final price ends up being!

I've never used eBay, Bruno. Unfortunately I suffer from completism - I was going for a full sweep (not all their titles, but the ones I found interesting - in one painful go), as opposed to picking up some titles here and there (there's a mailorder that stock many of their titles). That's a personal flaw, I know - but without it I'd have had a different music collection though.

In all fairness I like the one I have ;)

Okay, I've stopped shaking enough to download the b-side. Another fabulous song! Reminds me a bit of the Who's "Anyhow, Anywhere" (I'm not sure that's the exact title). Like the middle part with the handclaps. Another lost classic you've dug up here, my friend!
